No need to worry about what to cook for the next meal!!! Forget about vacuum cleaners and cleaning the house! Then if people are tired of that mountain air and want to have a change of scenery, they can go to the beaches in La Union. There are public buses that have depots in Baguio. Or hire a car with a driver! The Villa Lourdes-Baguio is just the perfect vacation place for people from abroad and even from the lowlands. Located in the area of the famous Lourdes Grotto in Baguio City. ![]() Baguio Villa Front View Of course, you should make that pilgrimage to the Lourdes Grotto! Climb up those 270 steps! Make your wishes to the Our Lady of Lourdes. Then turn around and let your heart swell to the panoramic view of Baguio City . The Villa Lourdes is actually a private vacation house owned by a former diplomat who now lives most of the time in Manila. It is run by Chef Lourdes and her assistant Karen. Stay at any two of its guest rooms. Choose the French four-poster “Princess Bed” that has been lugged from Saigon to South Africa and on to Baguio. The other bed is a brass queen-sized bed that has its own charm. Marvel at the wood carvings from Bali to Malawi (Africa). The diplomat also is a photographer, and he has on display his original collection of photos of plants and flowers that are now being sold as postcards. Check out a goat skin framed in glass bearing the ancient Ethiopian alphabet! The house is a showcase of the diplomat’s eclectic collection of souvenirs from all over the world. Guests can walk around the garden and enjoy the vast collection of plants. There is always a different set of blooms at different times. And during mealtime, sample the wonderful cuisine of Chef Lourdes. However, rigid screening is done to ensure the exclusivity of the vacation home. Sorry, no children are allowed because the house is not child-proof. Bookings and payments have to be done prior to arrival at the Villa. Only two guests to a room are allowed. So, at any one time, there is a maximum of only four guests in the Villa. This provides for a very quiet and serene time for the guests. The daily rate of P1,000 per person includes breakfast, and P500 per person without breakfast. But Lourdes will be happy to cook other meals that will be within their budget and their preferred menu. Laundry can also be done on site. There is a washing machine and dryer. This will be a vacation that you will never forget! For balikbayans, this is one chance in their lives to know how it is to live like a King!!! |
